Daffodil Luncheon

I enjoyed a beautiful Spring day. I am happy that I took a walk before the storms came. The flag was flying high and the daffodils and tulips were abundant.

I took pictures of the beautiful flowers and blooms.  I had to take a picture of my husband's adversary the dandelion.

This barn is across the road is adorned with cherry blooms and the picture at the top shows my Kentucky Bluegrass in the side yard.

I was inspired to go home and prepare a lunch of chicken noodle soup and fruit.

I picked some daffodils for my table setting.  Since I used my grandmother's recipe for the chicken soup, I brought out some vintage white place settings and added some milk glass.

For dessert we had fresh fruit. Thank you for stopping by. Hope you enjoy your week.

I thought this was so cute that I just had to add it. I witnessed a calf having lunch.

Easter Lunch for Seven

We hosted a small Easter lunch for seven.

I used the vintage Fiesta in pink and the light yellow is also vintage Fiesta. My sister-in-law found light blue, the rose (light pink) and the light yellow at a flea market while visiting in  Houston, Texas and was so kind to buy them for me.

Our menu included: baked ham, asparagus and squash, slaw, broccoli salad, mashed potatoes and a jello salad and homemade rolls. For dessert I made an Italian Creme Easter cake and a mandarin orange cake. Walton ware pieces were used for self serving on the island.

Relaxing after clean-up. My husband cut the Italian cake for a second piece. Then took to the couch to relax. Ernie, our cat, wasn't happy because he was not invited to the luncheon and spent the day on the porch.

Thanks for stopping by - JoAnn.

Easter Tablescape and Decor

My dining room table is set with an Easter tablescape for this holy day.

The salad plates are Pottery Barn, dinner plates are Fitz and Floyd Toulouse. The chargers are from Hobby Lobby and the placemats are from Pier One.

To my surprise, my husband, ordered the Easter rabbits and egg holder bells from Pottery Barn last Easter.

The tablecloth and napkins are Lenox Butterfly Meadow pattern. The napkin rings are from Pier One and fresh flowers from market.

Stemware is Waterford Crystal that was a gift from my Mother about 46 years ago.

Bird centerpiece is Fitz and Floyd Toulouse with matching salt and pepper shakers.

In the kitchen, an Easter burlap runner tops the breakfast table.

The rabbit centerpiece is from Pier One.

The bell jar is filled with Fitz and Floyd Easter rabbits to decorate the island.

Kitchen display shelves are filled with Fitz and Floyd Toulouse pieces.

In the Living Room, the mantel is decorated with two stylish rabbits and mercury glass eggs, all from Pier One.

The decorations are finish and now I preparing for 16 guests with multiple trip to the store. Thanks for stopping by - JoAnn.

St. Patty's Day Tablescape and a Party

I've designed an informal St. Patrick's Day setting trying to get into the spirit of St. Patrick's Day.

I used my Fiestaware in a variety of colors: Kelley Green, Lemongrass, Turquoise, and White.

Fiesta baking dishes were used for baked potatoes.

The centerpiece consisted of greenery picks and St. Patrick's Day hats and clovers from Trees and Trends.

Angel food cake and strawberries made a dessert for a birthday celebration for my husband.

A green and white St. Patrick's Tartan was used as a base for the centerpiece.

Food for the birthday party included: grilled pork chops, buttered carrots, sweet and sour slaw, baked beans, and baked potatoes.

Another table setting for St. Patrick's Day included a new quilted table runner I made using scraps from quilting projects.

Kiss Me, I'm Irish!

This is Ernie, my cat and assistant quilter.
