Peacocks In The New Dinining Room

Hope you have had a great week!
Before I show my new peacock, I wanted to show you my new dining room.

The painters were putting on  the
first coat of paint in December.
This is called a double tray  ceiling. It is fourteen feet high. The top of the ceiling is painted Charcoal. The rest of the ceiling and walls are painted Galveston Gray.

I saw this chandelier on Hozz and loved it. The lighting store just happened to have it in the show room. This is from the Crystorama Mercer Collection. I learned how to buy the proper size of lighting for a room during this construction. I had to have a large 30 " wide chandelier with eight candelabras because of the dining room size and height of the ceiling. It is band with hand cut crystals.

The floor is dark maple banded with light oak. I added a gray shag rug under the table.

I used my old chicory cherry dining room furniture
from the Thomasville's River Road Collections.
My new style is called Modern  Eclectic. I have been mixing old pieces that I love  with new finds.

This is my new focal point. I just love these peacocks.
My friend Judy (JBigg's Little Pieces) and
I found these while out shopping the other day.

Throughout the house, I have added
turquoise  as my accent color.

Hope you have enjoyed visiting my new dining room. Come back.
I trying to post each week.

  2. Hi JoAnn,

Oh, what spectacular meals you'll serve in this gorgeous room! I love the turquoise accents. Thanks for sharing.

    Have a Happy Blue Monday!

  3. The elegant peacocks look great with the Galveston gray, I went there many times as a child. I like the painting, too, and such a high ceiling! No wonder the painters needed scaffolding.

  4. Beautiful ceilings and paint color. Love the grays. Such a good color for the dining room. Of course, I love the peacocks and the plate.

  5. Oh, goodness! Your dining room is spectacular! And, Mr. Peacock is gorgeous! Thank you for sharing and thank you for the visit and sweet comment at The Dedicated House. It means the world! Feel free to share this post at my Anything Blue Friday party which is still live. Here is the link so you can check it out. Hope to see you at the little blue soiree. Happy Weekend. I can't believe how many bloggers are using turquoise as an accent color. It is sooo hot right now. I am using it in my bedroom and dining area..want to add a bit to my livingroom...not much...just here and there. Going to ck out pillows tomorrow.

  7. p.s. i'm working on a post as we speak about the color...:)
